I'm going to keep saying this, why are "Congrats on your new business" parties not a thing??? It can be so expensive starting out, maintaining and continually growing a business.
So if you're not sure what to get that Freelancer in your life, or your sis, aunt, friend who is hard to buy for but recently started a business, I've got you covered.
Today I am sharing my fave books that have helped me through this journey. Of course, there is no way that only these 7 listed are the only books I've devoured during my journey so to see more of my top picks, head over to my Amazon Freelancer Gift Guide List to see more!
Profit First by Mike Michalowicz: This book is a no holds bar, straight to the point, tough love kinda read. You will not find another book like this and what he teaches you. It's all about the financial part of your business and keeping your business alive, hence the title "Profit First". I guarantee you will learn countless new things.
Chillpreneur by Denise Duffield-Thomas: Freelancing does not have to be a 24/7/365 gig. After all, didn't we leave the corporate world to have more flexibility, control over our schedule, control over our income and have an actual LIFE!? Denise gives wonderful advice, encouragement, actionable items for you to get your sanity back and start living the way you intended by making this jump into your dream!
Girl Wash Your Face by Rachel Hollis: I have to admit, I committed to always be honest and fully transparent with you, I thought Rachel Hollis was too much of a hype and wasn't into her vibe and I was very hesitant to pick up either of her books. But me and a friend share passwords to our Audible to listen to each other's books. Shhhh, don't rat me out, please. So I went ahead and gave it a listen, it was free after all...well, clearly I fell in love since she is on this list. She is surprisingly relatable, motivating and real. She does not sugar coat anything and is fully transparent. I'm confident to say, this book will be enjoyed.
The Confidence Creator by Heather Monahan: I actually had no idea who Heather Monahan was and downloaded this book by judging it's cover. :\ Yes, I do that sometimes. Confidence can be really hard to maintain when you venture off on your own. Not signing that dream client, having a launch bomb, a tough month financially, it can be a rollercoaster FOR SURE. This book will help you see the light and realize you're not alone.
Manifest Now by Ida Ahmed: I listen to this book every day. Is that crazy? I just love everything about it, her soothing voice, real, understandable information and it leaves you feeling like a better person. I often put it on at night and listen to it while I fall asleep because her voice is so soothing and it gets deep into my subconscious by doing that...right?
Getting Noticed by Lindsay Teague-Moreno: This is another book I judged by its cover, lol. I really had no idea what it was about, was it business-related, personal, love life, who knew. Again she is a no holds bar, touch love kinda women. And her advice is easy to understand and actionable. It doesn't leave you wondering "well but how do I really do that....". And, if you need help with social media, this is your jam.
Mind Your Business by Ilana Griffo: Tbh, I have not read this, but it's next on my list. What the book claims: "Mind Your Business is the ONLY book that teaches you everything you need to know about how to build a successful business from scratch. From developing your brand to designing products to identifying your legal and tax needs, this comprehensive guide will take you through every step of the process and help you create a unique and customized roadmap for your business. Mind Your Business is for aspiring entrepreneurs who are driven, ambitious, creative, and determined to build a business and life they love." - Amazon
